First things first, we chat a little bit before making anything official. I want to know about you and your session thoughts + hopes and to start to get to know you. We can keep things to email or setup a time to chat or FaceTime. Whatever you prefer and works for you works for me.
Once we hit it off, we'll get things rollin! I'll send you a contract to review and send back signed, along with an invoice for your deposit - 25% of your session fee. (And your deposit goes towards your total cost, not in addition to.) You'll get a final invoice about a week or so before your session for the remaining balance that is due 2 days before your session. If you have more questions around booking, let me know!
Expect to have fun and be interactive with your family. Lots of hugs, cuddles, and anything to bring on the smiles and giggles. I won't make you just stand there and 'say cheese.' I get you situated for the best shot and then give a prompt to let you be you! I try to make every session as fun as possible for both you and me. When you're having fun, it reflects that in your photos and looks more natural and just like yourselves.
I know how excited everyone always is to get their images so I like to get a healthy handful of sneak peeks edited for you within a few days/week from your session. After that, you can expect your finished gallery in about 4-6 weeks.
I still work a Full-Time 40hr/week job, so sometimes depending on that - and the time of year(ie wedding season) - it can be more towards the 6 - 8 week mark. Which is why I deliver a lot of sneak peeks!
This one is always tough to guess because there are factors that go for or against our favor. Time: Mini session or full portrait session? Subject cooperation: Is it just you, 2 adults, or adults and big kids? How many littles, what about babies? Weather: Way too hot and way too cold always limit what we can do. But to guess...
Mini sessions (30 minutes), you can expect anywhere from 20-50 from a "bad session" and 50-100 on a "good session". Even on the worst days, if I get just a handful of just those main shots you're looking for, it's a win in my eyes!
Full Family sessions (1-2 hours) easily will be double that. We get all the posed photos you want to print and share with family and we also take lots of slow time and enjoy the moments together as a family. We add activities so it's not just your photos - fun picnics, summer or fall activities, or a family reunion grill-out. We get lots of candids for these sessions and your gallery is usually heavy on those. Way more lifestyle and documentary feel than the super-posed stuff.
For sure! It doesn't always happen, but for those rare cases - like you've booked a mini-session and now want a full session - I'd love to do that for you. It's an extra $100 per hour.
I'm a Canon photographer and I have 2 main cameras with me at your session - an R6 Mark II and a 5D Mark IV. I also pack with several lenses to use throughout the session for a variety of shots.
Of course not - But if you have grand display plans for them (think large gallery canvases in your living room), I can recommend a few local print companies. I have some favorites that have great finished product that looks more true to my digital work. Some of the 'cheaper' print places can have color variations, or the images don't always look the best because of image distortion. The digital files from your session come with a print release, so you are welcome to print wherever you want, but I also want your printed images to look just as great as your digital ones. That's why the fancy print companies are out there!
Absolutely!!! Assuming there are no acts of God or dire last minute medical emergencies, you will 100% have ME photographing your session. And since non-wedding sessions are usually not locked to a specific date, we can usually reschedule it no problem if something unforeseen does happen.
